Thanks Anne for the info. Never heard of the green whistle so now I know. Hoping I wonโ€™t have to use it on my trip while in Europe. ๐Ÿ˜Š

You might recall i fell off my bike and broke my arm in Spain. My experience in a small Spanish hospital in the middle of the country was actually a highlight of the trip. No frills, no food, no constant monitoring like in US hospitals, but excellent doctors. Google translate was very helpful. And it cost a tenth of what it would have cost at home. Hooray for hospital tourism!

I remember when you had that accident. I hadnโ€™t thought of it before, but I actually spent the night at one of the hospitals and thank God I was never offered food!!!

At one point, I asked the doctor for a receipt to submit to my insurance and he looked at me and said โ€œI donโ€™t think weโ€™re even charging you for thisโ€. No scanning the barcode and doing unnecessary hovering. Everything was shared decision-making.

Big fan of hospital tourism๐Ÿ‘‹

Thanks for being a reader and for sharing.

I am sorry you had the need for the green whistle. But on the bright side you made a story out of it informing your Stateside friends about its uses. I wish I could have used it when I got my IUD! The opening of my carved was not pleasant!!!

Every single woman should have access to the green whistle, especially for that nasty IUD stuff which I never had, but I heard itโ€™s horrible!
