You know how I feel about gifts. I want to get rid of stuff. We all should do Döstädning - Swedish death cleaning.

However, if you’re the one doing the shopping, I would recommend seeking advice from someone you trust. Someone like me, for instance. I have a few gift ideas —things I personally own. They are reliable, gender-neutral, and perfect for travel. Just so you know, I don’t get any kickbacks from these suggestions. 😒

MUGS

Looking to upgrade your morning ritual? A good mug makes every cup of tea taste better.

SOCKS

Like tattoos, socks can be a subtle unisex fashion statement. Opt for multicolored or statement socks with personality.

FLOWER SALT

Elevate the ordinary by gifting flower salt – a small touch that can make a big difference.

NOT UGLY SWEATER

This is by far my favorite purchase this year, made by a small company in Ireland. I debated buying it when I tried it on, until the cashier pointed out the black sheep. Walla! That detail made it an instant favorite. Even Lady Di had one.

I do not feed the birds because they need me. I feed the birds because I need them. Bird feeders bring a microcosm of nature to your window. Gifted to my mother-in-law, it seemed to add years to her life. Hang it high so it does not attract coyotes. Whatever you do, hang it in a spot where you can see it.

WIND CHIMES

Corinthian chimes produce a gentle and magnificent sound. Gifting these creates lasting memories and a connection whenever they ring.
